Basement and Crawl spaces

A vapor retarder may be advisable on the lower foundation walls or the dirt floor of crawl spaces or basements if moisture is present.  This provides inexpensive protection against moisture migration into floor framing above and will reduce the likelihood of mold and mildew (pricing available upon request).

We assume that the crawl space will be cleared out and deep enough (18” minimum below the bottom of the floor joists) so that we can access the entire foundation wall and sill area for the spray work.

If any of the areas are not accessible (beyond arm’s reach and or line of sight), we understand that our goal will then be to isolate the inaccessible area so that it won’t compromise the performance of the rest of the basement or crawl space; or, that we will come back at a later date to do those areas when they can be made accessible to us.  This additional work would be under a separate contract, priced at the time of the additional work.  The reduced area of the current work would be credited only by the amount of the cost of the material not used, keeping all travel, labor, and setup charges as in the original estimate.
