Rafter tail blocking and
preparation
The diagram on the right illustrates the proper way to install rafter tail block in preparation for foam insulation. The block is fastened on the outside of the wall rather then the inside. The reason for attaching the rafter block to the outside is so that the foam insulation can form a seal along the top plate of the wall assembly.
